Nourish Souls’ Inner Garden Aligned with the Seasonal Cycles

New Year’s resolutions are popular but setting a goal on January 1st, doesn’t feel natural as it does not align with the rhythms of nature. We are vibrational beings, constructed in accordance with the harmonic overture of nature. As we step in 2022, we will highlight Imbolc, the Celtic cross-over point between Winter Solstice and Vernal Equinox, as we continue planting seed truths in the soil of our souls to manifest in late summer.

My Celtic roots run deep, as I feel the call of nature in every bone of my body.  I celebrate the eight cross-over points, the movement of the seasonal cycles, which include four Celtic points. They lie between each Solstice and the Equinox.  These four cross-quarter points, known as fire festivals, are called Imbolc (February); Beltane (May); Samhain (August); and Lughnasadh (November).

The rhythm of nature and earths revolutionary path around the sun, births these transitional markers every few months. They guide us throughout the year to soulfully evolve.  Nature and the celestial bodies, guide us to empty that we may be filled with our hearts desire.

The eight directions and festivals carry significant meaning to the unfoldment of our souls’ growth and development. The four Celtic festivals form the shape of the X, while solstices and equinoxes form the shape of an equal-armed cross on the wheel of directions.

I came across an article that sparked great enthusiasm in my Celtic heart.  It was written by Richard Rudd, author of the Gene Keys, about Imbolc, the February 2nd fire festival. He says that the Ancient Celts referred to the period leading up to Imbolc, between Christmas and February 2nd, as the time of the ‘Ice Moon’.  The focus is on clearing, purging and purifying the soil of our soulful garden. How do we do this? Well, first we must become conscious of our weaknesses, self-distortions, negative self-talk and choose to do something about it. Then we take the time to plant new seed truths (intentions) in the soil of our soul, to be made manifest in late summer.

It helps to create declarations, intentions and positive affirming thoughts to support our evolving self during the approach of Imbolc.  It is a spiritually powerful time carried upon the rhythms of nature.  A beautiful bounty of blooming flowers open in late summer, one petal at a time, to reflect the unfoldment of ones’ essence and truth of being.

As we mindfully clear emotional and mental weeds of entanglement, we clear life’s pathway, so we may walk more free, without stumbling over old patterns of behavior. New living truths of intention, elevate the resonant frequency of our soulful garden. We can continue to plant intentions in Autumn, together with the Imbolc festival, while allowing a seamless fluidity through each seasonal cycle. The gestation of our intentions take root, as they energetically deepen into souls’ garden to assist our evolving self, each quarter turn, season to season.

The Celtic tradition embraces Imbolc to be associated with the fertile power of the Goddess, where she profoundly guides us to cycle through natures harmonic rhythms, to birth a higher expression of oneself, our True Self. She assists us in the process of healing and creative manifestation, nurturing the seeds we have planted in Autumn, together with new seeds of intention during the Holy Nights following Christmas, approaching Imbolc.

The time leading up to Imbolc, is opportunity to refine our soulful garden with right thought, feelings and action. Springtime will reveal new life and resurrection, as summer will yield a bounty of balanced, harmonic energies, supporting ones’ vision. It is then carried forth at the Autumnal Equinox and thus repeated.

The four Celtic cross-over points represent fire. They symbolize fellowship and storytelling around the fire. Family and friends gather to listen to the elders tell stories during these festivals.  Imbolc lights our inner fire, the spiritual fire within us, birthing new life. It is interesting in the Christian tradition, Candlemas is celebrated February 2nd, by lighting candles in the name of the Virgin Mary and the presentation of baby Jesus.  And the Chinese New Year is celebrated at this time as well.

Perhaps you may consider using this time prior to February 2nd, Imbolc, to inwardly focus on releasing and purifying your innermost self of doubts, negative-thoughts and fear, while reframing them into a higher frequency that will support your authentic and True Self. Then build a fire the night before Imbolc and toss into the fire anything incongruent with your evolving self. The Divine Mother and Great Goddess is ready to listen to the empowered declarations you intend to manifest and bring to fruition.

May we remember as we elevate our resonant frequency to the highest frequency of love, we will positively impact and elevate humanity’s love frequency too. Self-transformation yields global transformation.
